07/02/2004: IRAN - Let's Do Something, Blogosphere!
The Young Activists over at FREE IRAN have written me again to solicit your... and other bloggers'... support and I cannot turn them down. How can you not sympathize with people whose home country is under the control of the Mullahs?

Coming up next week is the historic Iranian holiday of the 18th of Tir. You can read about it here in conjunction with a new petition they would like us all to sign. (I already have. Please do it too!) These young people would also like us to join them in a "worldwide demonstration against the Mafia Mullahs, Terrorists, Islamofascists, and Fanatics who intend to stop and kill the spread of FREEDOM, SECULARISM & DEMOCRACY." I plan to participate in Los Angeles on July 7 (other dates vary slightly--see the link).

This is not a Democrat/Republican/left/right issue, but about basic human rights. All of us should want to help end a totalitarian regime. And let me emphasize one thing--these young people are not asking for US military assistance. They see that as counter-productive. What they want is the firm diplomatic and economic isolation of the Mullahs by the United States and other countries. They will do the rest. Let's give them a hand
