It's weird, there is really not much going on to be outraged about outside of the "usual suspects" shootings and whatnot.

I just got back inside from enjoying my morning coffee and the traffic headed into NOtVA/DC was a lot lighter.

If this keeps up maybe we really don't need half the .gov after all. ;)

Also, We are not seeing the usual apocolyptic stories in a the media about the death and destruction caused by the shutdown. Because the media know that people won't by the claim that this is a "Republican shutdown."

When fedemps miss their mid-month paycheck, maybe the news will take more notice.

The difference is with a Republican in office you don't get the "show" shutdown the Dems go with. Shutting down parks monuments and other federal public areas.

Meh, the Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway is still open.

Actually, those that border those areas would like to see it closed what with hunting season upon us. ;)

I looked outside this morning to see if there was any blood running in the streets.

All I saw was a bunny rabbit and a squirrel.

Maybe I’ll take a drive down there tomorrow. It won’t be as crowded, and it’s a beautiful drive. The restaurants might not be open, but I’ll pack a lunch.

P.S. I just checked. The lodges and restaurants remain open.

There is not much color yet. Anyway, the wife said it's supposed to rain (PM) tomorrow.

Dang. Thanks for the warning.

If this lasts another couple of weeks, the leaves should start to turn.

I’m also surprised that the lodges are open, with limited dining service. Seems none of that is really “essential.”

Government is force.

The less government the better....

Shut it all down permanently. We don't need no steekin' government.
