They are 20 grain at 450 fps, like a pellet gun. I am looking for something like air gun speed and sound level to use around by bee yard. The hive draws mice and the mice attract copperheads. I have a box of shorts but they are still too loud. I think these are like the old cb caps that you used to shoot at the shooting galleries, no powder, just the primer. I imagine they wouldn't work in a semi auto but they should shoot good in my wrangler. I can't seem to find any locally. 22 LR COLIBRI

Bird shot

I used something similar when I had a rabbit hutch. Rats showed up and I'd wack 'em. They were called 22 CB caps.

I would get a pellet rifle that shoots over 700fps.

Best thing is a cat that likes to hunt.

I use air guns. Here are some penetration tests I did with various .22 rimfire.

Test procedure: 12 inches of Uline catalogs were stacked and put in a cardboard box to test bullet penetration. Catalogs changed every 6 shots or so. The penetration was measured to the rear of the bullet with a 1/8-inch steel probe through the hole. So, the deformed bullet length should be added to the results.

Anything subsonic will really reduce the noise.

I have a gammo that is death on squirrels (.177) but I just think a single action would be handier and I wouldn't have to pump it. I was picking blackberries last summer and shot a copperhead with the ruger that I had trouble getting my hands around, because it was where their 2 kids ride their minibikes.
