More than half of registered voters — including 28% of Democrats — said President Donald Trump's actions in Washington, D.C., to tackle crime were "justified and necessary," according to a new Harvard Center for American Political Studies (CAPS)-Harris poll released Monday.

Overall, 54% said Trump's moves to federalize D.C.'s police force and deploy the National Guard were necessary to increase safety in the capital, including 47% of independents.

Further, 51% said the moves would make Washington safer, including 28% of Democrats.

As for the individual moves, 54% said they supported Trump's decision to declare a crime emergency in D.C.; 54% approved of his order to deploy National Guard troops; 50% approved of federalizing the police force; and 47% said they approved of Trump using presidential authority to take over local police, according to the survey.

"It's clear Trump is moving from immigration to crime as a major focus and his efforts are receiving strong Republican and independent support," said Mark Penn, co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris poll.

Those are pretty large numbers for a Harvard poll.
I see reports where it has approx 100% approval with citizens in the crime ridden areas.

Harvard has reputation for fake polls. Its likely much higher than that. What kind of idiot opposes fighting crime. Democrat idiots

Trump's gambit is being misreported and misunderstood. The DC force is down by about 25% in staffing. Trump has supplemented it temporarily with NG.

Like most big cities, DC's violent crimes are mainly centered in a couple of specific neighborhoods, and patrolling those neighborhoods is paying off. The same would occur in Chicago, which is even more site-specific with its major violent crimes.

Again, the political Left is on the wrong side of this issue, largely because it is totally infected with TDS. No matter what Trump does, they are against it.

Under President Donald Trump's federal crime crackdown, arrests in Washington, D.C., have exceeded 1,000, as the city marks its 12th consecutive day without a homicide. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro reported that on a recent Sunday, 86 arrests were made, along with the seizure of 10 illegal firearms, bringing the total to 1,007 arrests and 111 guns removed from circulation. Pirro highlighted the impact of these seizures on public safety, suggesting they prevent potential violence.

Pirro attributed the improvements in safety to Trump's deployment of federal law enforcement agencies in D.C., noting that the presence of these forces has made a significant difference in reducing crime rates.

While the year has seen 101 homicides in D.C., the 12-day homicide-free streak was emphasized as a positive outcome of the initiative.

Ouch. Time for democrats to say they have a messaging problem and that we need more crime in DC.

Indeed, coming from Harvard at 54% means that the percentage is higher .

Yet you quote Newsnax…not the poll itself.

We should have a rule on the board: If you cite _____ in the title, you have to quote ____; not some righty or lefty organization cherry picking information
