Now, perhaps Harris was the only alternative at that point, as she was the only person who could claim the money Biden had raised so far and it would have been damned awkward to pass her over. But frankly, she never made it to the primaries in 2020, what suddenly made her a better candidate now?

Americans have gotten tired of this DEI stuff. Not because we have fixed all the discrimination problems (we haven't), but because it's just fobbing people we wouldn't vote for on us.

Say what you want about Barack Obama, but he came by the nomination honestly. He beat a much better-funded Hillary Clinton in the primaries (probably because he was better at reading the room).

The Democrats would have been much better served if Biden had stepped aside after Democrats did well in the 2022 midterms, and allowed for a vigorous primary campaign. Harris might have prevailed in those, but she would have earned it.
