Israel is the occupying power of the Gaza Strip.
That means it has a responsibility and a duty to protect the civilians under its occupation:

The problem with that is, that Palestine has never existed, in any book, right up to this day.

Israel, however, has been in that region of the world for 5,000 years. Not continuously, to be sure, but if there is a rightful claim on the land, it belongs to the Jews. The Gazan Arabs are the refuse from the surrounding countries who are even shunned by their kin.

If you look back to the very beginning of the bombing campaign you can hear the hospital spokesmen saying they only had a day or two and they'd have to stop saving lives. It must be a MIRACLE that 2 days fuel has still lasted for 3 weeks.
