Greggs to open champagne bar ‘inspired by 1920s Paris wine bars’
The Christmas pop-up in Fenwick in Newcastle will pair sausage rolls and other classic bakes with £75-a-glass champagne
Greggs is the most succesful fast food outlet in the UK. Bigger than Maxs or any other. Wherever you are in the UK there is a Greggs. They sell pastry based snacks that are great for lunch on the go. I still have 4 free coffees left on my app.
Their saudage rolls are the signature dish. but they do a corned beef hash slice that is my fave. Basically corned beef hash in flaky pastry. You can see a bake in the pic.
Its probably not healthy but sometimes it hits the spot. Last xmas my son stopped at one on the way from hospital. I asked for a corned beef sslice and a tomato soup.
There was no tomato soup. They had xmas soup. Whats that I asked.?
Xmas dinner in a soup I was told. I passed.
I just cant see the attraction of a champagne bar. If I was taking a girl out for champpagne I think she would expect a more substantial feast than a sausage roll. Or even a steak bake.
