Pay play, but New Yorkers won't care. They love corruption, immorality, and incompetence. That's why they keep voting for it. Case and point, Weiner, Spitzer, Massa, Lee, Fossella, and the list goes on and on.

Twin $50,000 donations were made to Andrew Cuomo’s campaign by two companies that have the same address as Extell Financial Services, which is part of Extell Development Co. — one of five developers to receive hefty tax relief thanks to a bill signed by the governor two days after the contributions.

It's not just a problem in blue states. Dig a little and you'll find it happens everywhere. SUPPORT PUBLIC FINANCING OF ELECTIONS.

Nope. That's treating the symptom.

Ban tax expenditures. No tax breaks for anyone. Then there is no point in bribing public officials if they can't give you one, and everyone is paying taxes on a level field.

Win/win.

That won't solve the problem and all public financing of elections will do is protect the incumbent.
