Catholic women wear head covers or hats in church, I would guess the since both Greek and Russian Orthodox are outgrowths from the Roman Church, their women do as well.
Catholic women used to wear headcoverings in church. Now it's less common, but has a seen somewhat of a resurgence recently.

It's been decades since I went to Catholic church, but head covering wasn't very common back then. Interestingly in Iran, where the head covering is required by law many women in the big cities (e.g. Tehran) flout the law and the morality police have largely given up trying to enforce it.
