I'm a one that avoids doctors where possible. A few years ago I had an infection on my thumb. Over the counter stuff wasn't working but Manuka honey cleared it up.

So this year with acid reflux, and aches and pains as 60 is getting closer, this came up on my YouTube feed -

I'm not a one that could just eat/drink olive oil on its own, or honey, or lemon juice; but today was the first day of trying Dr. Mandell's concoction. Mixed it all up, prepared for the worst, and........... wasn't bad, quite tasteless!! So the girlfriend did the same but she used extra virgin olive oil and Manuka honey. So we're going to do this every day and see what happens.

As for lager, cider, prosecco etc.. I'm swapping to cranberry juice, melon juice, and bottled water.

So hopefully, a healthier new year.

Has anyone else tried such stuff?

Yeah, I've seen a few of his videos. He's hit and miss like many online, he's not one I regularly refer to though he has some interesting elixirs.

He had one years ago with thyme, cayenne powders etc which were great for clearing flem and lowering blood pressure. I just put it in hot water, no tea needed. Worked well.

Some of these guys have too little fat, not enough muscle mass. It's a difficult balance to achieve as when one ages trying to replace loss muscle is more difficult.

The Greeks live longer because of olive oil, and obviously honey is very good. So I'll see what happens.

Only watched two or three of his videos, not really bothered in the rest because I imagine if you tried all the oils and spices etc.. there wouldn't be room for food.

At 71, I avoid, unless it is the yearly scheduled, or appointments to recheck something noted in the yearly. Had to see Cardiologist today, because referred by Doctor at yearly. I aced it, same as I did, when I was 60. We have cider in the fridge now, and always keep cranapple, for drinking straight or with Vodka on the rocks. Bottle water is for guests, as Jackson, wins award for it water and the fridge even filters that without the microplastics found in bottle water.

When it comes to olive oil, do your research. The bottle definitely has to be dark in colour so no light gets through, Cold First Pressed extra V etc.

There are many fakes with blends, you want the real stuff. It won't be cheap except for some California brands that seem to be fairly reasonably priced with high polyphenols content.

Otherwise you will get a blend with corn oil etc or non-First Pressed and you will not get the benefits.

Interestingly, that's the stuff and colour of bottle the girlfriend bought! I have the clear bottle stuff for cooking. Thanks for that, I'll switch to hers.

Yeah apparently glass bottles are better than plastic but dont quote me on that. Clear bottles generally lose their impact quicker due to light damaging the acidic content or something.
