One of the most persistent myths is that Germany’s establishment is pro-Israel. The facts tell a very different story: Germany’s establishment is keen to ingratiate itself with the numerous countries that pursue a pro-Palestinian line. Solidarity with Israel has at best come to be considered an awkward, bothersome duty.

When German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited Israel last week, relations between the two countries were tense—more so than at nearly any point since Israel’s founding, wrote a commentator for the Jüdische Allgemeine. This says a lot, given Israel’s history as a refuge for Germany’s Holocaust survivors.

The reasons for this tension are easy to understand. There was Merz’s cowardly turn away from Israel this summer, when he announced that Germany would enact an arms embargo for weapons that might be used in Gaza—even though Hamas were still holding hostages in their tunnels, including German citizens. This was preceded by his statement in spring that he no longer understood Israel’s aims.

It seems much of Europe has lost its moral compass.
Many European nations needs a sharp shift in governance. One that places values and principles to the forefront of traditional democratic system, not one that embraces the old East German version of justice and liberty.

It coincides with the massive influx of Muslims. England and France seem the worse, but as you note, it is elsewhere in Europe as well - and particularly chilling in Germany given its history.

Israel wasn't good enough at genocide. Or too imitative. One or the other.

I would say, it’s always been there, like a malignant sickness. I remember sitting at a cafe in Paris before the “massive influx”, witnessing an anti Israel march rampaging down the boulevard. It was scary, mainly due to the violent shouting emanating from the mob. Mainly Arabs, and not to forget Paris has had a strong Arab population for years, due to the obligations to their former colonies. But there were also a fair few of white people participating in the yelling and the flag waving.
Israel wasn't good enough at genocide.

Couldn’t help yourself, could you? You must be scouring this site 24/7, looking for some anti semitic titillation.

You’re becoming quite legendary.

I'm sure Israel will get as good as the Germans at genocide if it keeps practising.

The worst thing about you and your pointless juvenile snarks is your low level of intelligence, if any at all.

You really are quite stupid, and seem to relish putting your ignorant offensiveness on full display, for all to see.

Oh well, to coin one of your phrases.

Speaking of genocide. Some months before their slaughter.

The German’s have feet of clay

Merkel and the EU flooded the country with uncivilized muslims who are strong enough to intimidate the native Germans with threats if violence

Its as simple as that

The Germans themselves are well aware of this, and make their views known quite vocally.

Many are emigrating to places like Paraguay.

That wont earn them a chapter in “Profiles in Courage”

Better they should stay and fight for their country
