Multiplayer games are not for children. Games where players can customize an avatar and chat with each other, are filled with the most racist, sexist, hateful speech imaginable. Avatars of hanging black men from poles, beastiality, pornography etc etc, totally common.

I think the gaming industry talking about it is important.

Gaming offers much too much freedom. They can offer a gay wizard or a transgender fighter as an avatar option, but forcing gamers to adopt these avatars will take much more pressure.
