Furnace Creek Death Valley California. 126 temperature in July during the day. You can die from this heat if you get stuck on the highway without water or shade. Deaths occur here every year...

I lived in Vegas 33 years and it got up to 117 in July. Not a fan of heat....

I lived in Barstow for a couple years in the 60s--not far from Death Valley in the Mojave desert. Its hot. But it's a dry heat! LOL

I prefer cold weather... the colder the better...I don't like the heat at all.....I know I know....that's just moi!

I was 18 then--no way now. That is why I live in WA. We get a few days a year over 90 but not many. In the winter, below zero temps are not unusual and I don't mind them at all.

Not any more--that was over 50 years ago. I would have rather gone to Mammoth Mountain anyway. Never was a fan of Big Bear.

It's nearby my favorite free flying site, and I have fond childhood memories of Lake Arrowhead, sooooo......

Wow. When I left they had a Del Taco (good Mexican fast food) before taco trucks, and a Del Panther (hamburger stand) owned by the same bunch as Del Taco. I think they may have had a Stuckey's too.
