Been a long time since I had seen this one. I think the only time I saw it was on VHS in the late 90s.
We saw it on Netflix, so we watched it.
It is a simple, timeless story of friendship and the value of having a true one.
I remember a saying I read somewhere, goes something like this - "if you have lived your life, and had only a single true friend, you are fortunate to have had something so rare".
Indeed. In life, the people who will hurt you the most are almost always the ones you held the closest and dearest. It is just the way it is. And to have a true friend who will always be there for you - is a gift like none other.

I've two, and I married one.

It's been a long time since I've seen that movie as well...
