Foxconn, a huge Chinese company, says they want to invest EIGHT BILLION in the US

I'm already sick of winning!

So shittingbull gave me a couple funnies? Is this representative of the lefts thoughts on American economic expansion?

This is the company that makes 95% of our smart electronics. They are APPLE'S biggest manufacturer.
Was just announced on Fox News. I'm going to assume it's not fake news so yeah......GO TRUMP
It's hilarious you think Trump had something to do with it.

The sun just rose! Thank you, Trump!

It's hilarious you can't see the tidal wave of economic change that is poised to happen for ONE REASON. You're too busy standing on the beach and wondering why all the water left.

It's great news, don't get me wrong, but when China is willing to do this, you have to read deeper. Canada likes to do the same things to butter up their target just before they undermine them. You always have to look for potential security risks of particular investment, of which doesn't appear to be the case.

First, many if not most Chinese companies have high government ownership and even operatives in them.

Second, providing such an investment, like they did with T-bills, is often a way to maintain a good relationship in order to persuade Trump to maybe not take as harsh a stance on China in the upcoming trade war.

I don't think Trump will fall for an tactics. he will smle, shake hands, say nice things, but he would be lead to assign the decisions of one issue with the outcome of another. It would leave the country open to more bad decisions.

He is taking the carrot and stick approach. Here is the country, big booming economy, great work environment with low regulations and taxes, invest and make money. As an added bonus, you won't have to pay a tariff as you will have to if you manufacture overseas.

The smart businesses will get in early and avoid the stick.

Thank you globalism. Anyways, Trump needs to pony up a ton of free land and government cheddar to Foxconn to get these jobs

Foxconn wants “bargain rates” on land and power before it makes US investments
Let's see what deal we can work out eh? I'm all for it
I guess I am too, but I hope there's no unforeseen fallout. Massive subsidies are generally wealth-destroyers.
I agree on the corporate welfare issue. I don't get subsidies to keep my business afloat beyond the normal tax code. If I can survive on my own so can the multi billionaires. Having said that, I'm not opposed to tax cuts as long as the resulting tax revenues from the business offset the rebates given to build it.
I know that kinda sounds contradictory but I hope you know what I mean.

Well that's a big "as long as." I guess we'll see.

Foxconn Shifts Focus From Wisconsin Manufacturing Plan | HuffPost

Foxconn, which received controversial state and local incentives for the project, initially planned to manufacture advanced large screen displays for TVs and other consumer and professional products at the facility, which is under construction. It later said it would build smaller LCD screens instead.

Now, those plans may be scaled back or even shelved, Louis Woo, special assistant to Foxconn Chief Executive Terry Gou, told Reuters. He said the company was still evaluating options for Wisconsin, but cited the steep cost of making advanced TV screens in the United States, where labor expenses are comparatively high.

So you bragged about this in 2017. Now it's 2019 and you are seeing Trump is more talk than action. You will see that in all the things he has tried.

So fuck building a $5 trillion dollar wall all so we can find out 2 years later it was just a Trump campaign gimmick.

It’s not the same number of jobs that they were once talking.

You’ll see. Just like your fake news eventually turned out to be a lie or wrong, so will this
