Possibly the most perverse figure of the Catholic sex abuse scandal went to his judgment yesterday.

As a Catholic, I pray that he was able to repent and convert while he had the chance, but must admit that the world is not an emptier place without him.

Mods, I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this thread. Please move it if there's a more appropriate place for it.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet...

For the sake of his sorrowful passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world...

Remember the vision of Saint Faustina. Jesus said we don't understand how great is mercy.

You're sorry for the sexual abuser?

And I meditate on that, the mystery of how great is mercy, every time I pray the Chaplet. Thanks for bringing that up. I will pray a Chaplet today. Sadly, I don't remember or have a chance to pray it every day.

In your second sentence.

I'm wondering why you didn't say he should have been castrated, his head lopped off and put on a pike.

Because, as Catholics, we pray several times daily for God's mercy for EVERY sinner on the planet. EVERY sinner means even the worst of us sinners.

I pray every day for God's mercy for you.

I don't need your phony prayers, child.

May he burn in Hell.

I listen and pray along with the Chaplet in the very early morning. When I am able to do this, the Chaplet seems to linger within throughout the day. Here is the link I use.

When I heard of the Cardinal's death yesterday, the Chaplet immediately came to mind, followed by the thought of a time he had once been a man who would have been so shamed that this is how he would be remembered.

nothing but zero gravity in what they post - a sinner implying the same for everyone.

the physical abuse is their symptom, their crime is to not have repudiated judaism's false commandments, hereditary idolatry religion of apartheid as is the mission set by jesus the cardinal used to persecute and victimize the innocent and the true crimes of christianity and catholicism.

nowhere in the heavens for a liar.

Thank you for that perspective. Very well said.

My husband, who was a cradle Catholic, fell away and lived very sinfully, and I pray a lot for the possibility that he realized his shame in his last moments of consciousness and made an Act of Contrition before he died. My priest has helped me realize that the priest whom I asked to anoint my husband probably gave the Apostolic Blessing. I couldn't be there because it was in a facility that was locked down during covid, and I would likely not have understood the significance because I was not Catholic at that time.

Thank you for sharing that link. It is the same way we pray the Chaplet at our monthly Holy Hour for the Vocations, and it always gives me such a sense of peace.

Do you watch the proceedings on EWTN on Divine Mercy Sunday? I so look forward to it every year.

Well, my opinion is that it's what he deserves.

Hmm ... If it is true what is said about Mr. Theodore McCarrick then I see a totally other problem: How often? And why so long? How was this able to happen at all? Unfortunatelly he was dement when he had been accused.
