good question, it's mostly ice and rock, there could be precious metals but the time and effort to get to them might not be worth the cost

Trump could sell the ice as cubes to help cool the equator of climate change.

Other than Greenland's strategic location, it is replete with many land minerals, resources like rare earths needed in the manufacture of EV batteries and computer chips, the very things we need to break our dependence on China from.

Security, resources, location of new missile defense, control of trade routes to Europe, Empire expansion etc.

There are many reasons why America would want to purchase it and many reasons Greenland would take the cash. Their incomes would triple overnight and tourism would boom with wealthy Americans visiting etc as Americans would support the location.

Hell, if I am Trump I tell them that America will create industries. Help to build a hockey arena and push for a minor hockey club to play in a U.S minor league team or something. Essentially work to coordinate the two economies.

I would love the opportunity to sell this to Greenlanders, it should be a layup.

Yeah, they did try to build underground facilities but the shifting glacier ice was prohibitive however, thanks to global warming, there are areas becoming free of ice where mining is possible.

I've already shared my thoughts on this tons of times on other threads... So I'm not going to repeat it again here. But, in addition to what I posted on other threads, according to this Forbes article and other reports, they're planning on building a "Freedom City" there. (Don't attack the messenger, I'm just relaying what is being reported.)

"Freedom City" = Smart City, a WEF idea, but aimed at conservatives and libertarians.

How do they do research in Antarctica? They actually make special gear just for boring through ice--- turns out that ice melts, all you need to do is insert a probe that heats the ice up to room temperature and it turns to water, easy peazy. Part of the probe gets hot, melts the water, the heat is circulated melting more ice and then it gets sucked up by another part of the probe.

First they might like a core sample of the ice first for scientific study.

Far easier than drilling through solid rock and stone through a mountain sideways trying to line it up with the tunnel on the other side hitting it to within inches. Water just gets out of your way soon as you warm it up a little, better still, it then becomes FRESH water people can even drink.

I can see it now: new, clean bottles on shelves everywhere full of Trump's Famous Fresh-Bottled Greenland Glacial Springwater! You too can enjoy the fresh taste of clean mountain water made from rain 10,000 years ago.
