Floyd Mayweather set to unretire

You’re right. Boxing is dead
It is very popular here because of our location near the Army post. My son is a volunteer coach at our local gym and helps both amateur and professional fighters. My daughter-in-law spars with women professional fighters as well as an Olympian. Professional fights at the championship classes may be dead, but it is certainly not here.

There is also no MMA, except the military combative training. The local gyms do not support it because there is no interest locally.

The UFC/MMA killed boxing.....It's dead Jim.

I agree, but only because of Boxing's big problem with having so many champions in each division.

Which leads to the best fighters not fighting each other.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather (mainly Mayweather) dodged each other for the better part of 10 years before they finally fought. By the time they did fight both were past their primes.

and reports say Pacqiao fought with an injured shoulder ..

Can't have 5 different champions. WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, and The Ring That's what killed Boxing.

Like the NFL and every other sport. That is what is known in the vernacular as 'milking it,' because too many stupid people out there are just too stupid and bored with their lives to not be used like that and end up having season tickets, a 90 inch TV and subscriptions to 9 different sports services on their TV, phone, betting lines, and everything else, a perfect patsy to keep feeding billions of dollars into these people like a drug into a vein.

Free agency ruined the NFL.

Actually, there might be one bright ray in the future for MMA. Years ago, one of the pioneers and top fighters of female MMA after soundly kicking the ass pretty much of all her peers in the sport, for a few years left MMA and took up wrestling in the WWE.

And she soundly kicked pretty much everyone's ass there, too. Her peers were afraid of her. She was the champion in no time. She was actually worth watching because she came out to the ring like a lion, to kill.

I think the WWE actually threw her out or fired her, because they could not control her. She was like a time bomb. She was training other female wrestlers, who themselves were also champions.

I also think maybe she left sports and fighting to have a kid. I'm not sure, but my guess is she had her kid(s), has gotten herself back in shape and feels ready to return to the ring. She could be worth following. She is literally the only girl I've ever seen in MMA or wrestling to make me stop and take notice, and be the sole reason for tuning in and watching.

This fight could easily be better than their first.
I thought the first fight was pretty competitive. If Manny was indeed compromised with his shoulder then theoretically he should do better in the second fight.
