The right has slowly been warming up to the cancel culture they derided among the left for years. Since Charlie Kirk's assassination, they have fully embraced it. Unfortunately, these crusades tend to have an inevitable path that concludes in "Burn the witch!" It's not enough that people making the callous remarks are losing their jobs, apparently, you deserve to be fired if your spouse does too.

This was the initial post on X that called attention to it.

Sure. Can't beat 'em fairly, due to their cheating, cheat just as much as they do!

Were you saying that when the left was the only ones applying the cancel culture?

I wonder why restaurant servers would be more upset about Kirk's death than the operators?

I thought the Republicans were only in it for the wealthiest?

The right wingers want so bad to be victims. This is like catnip, for them.

I guess Republicans have a more "human" side. They see a beautiful young wife with very young children become a widow overnight. She loved her husband and America feels her pain.....That is ....unless you are a Democrat..... so you spew hate on social media and hence you lose your job and so forth.

When it comes to facing consequences for your speech…

At least they’re not being shot for what they said.

Maybe.
Just maybe people will learn to not post stupid shit online for shock value and pathetic attention seeking.
Maybe folks will learn to be more civil on social media and reject sociopathic behavior.
Maybe.

But I seriously doubt it.
I've read all kinds of vitriol on social media. I once got into it with a well known Canadian SOB though I didn't lose my mind.

Free speech is just that. If you're not too careful you will become like Canada and the Creepy Ones will be in your workplace, schools and places of worship Do you want what we have here?

The whole problem with what was happening with cancel culture is that it leads to this type of retaliation, the time to put an end to it I fear has passed, i.e. too late to complain bro.
