Five Year Old Witnesses His Parents Murder/Suicide

Btw, I completely understand all those who don't want to watch it as it is very hard to watch.

I disagree. Trauma such as that can stay with you for life. A good therapist can help you forget.
I disagree. If the boy keeps going to a therapist, shrink, counselor, preacher, etc., he'll never forget about what happened. To me, the best way to bury a bad memory well enough is to never speak about it again because the more that you address what happened in any way, the more that the memory will stay alive and kicking.

God bless you and the boy and everyone who loved his parents always!!!

well they need to evaluate what he saw and feels but ya stop as soon as possible.

^^^ I wouldn't be surprised if the boy has asked why his dad didn't shoot him too.

God bless you and the boy always!!!

P.S. According to the date on his mother's burial space, the boy should be turning eight or maybe nine this year. I don't know if the shooting was before or after his birthday the year that the horror happened.

Good therapists make you forget. That's their job. They take your attention AWAY from the trauma.

^^^ I don't know about that. I can't see it being so easy to forget why the boy even goes to such appointments in the first place. Who he sees may help him deal with his past, but I highly doubt that he could ever have the ability to forget about his past with it being as severe as it is, especially when he is only one of many people who have such an experience. In other words, he could always hear about other people who can tell the same story that he has. That right there is the sad thing. He can't be shielded from hearing about other people's experiences when he can overhear about them pretty much anywhere.

God bless you and the boy and his ilk always!!!

Holly

P.S. Don't forget. Who he saw were his parents, not complete and total strangers. If he loved his parents both enough, they most definitely should be remembered in some way.

A therapist will focus the attention of the child on things that don't bring them back to the trauma. The exercises focus the attention on pleasant things.
