• A carrier strike capability.
• A nuclear ballistic missile force
• A global basing footprint (Gibraltar, Bahrain, Singapore, the Falklands)
• Regular combined operations with US, French, Japanese, and Australian forces

Like the old bear joke, you don't have to be good, just better than your opposition. The Russians have only one carrier and the ship has been out of service and in repairs since 2018. The repair process has been hampered by accidents, embezzlement of funds, and other setbacks.

In WW2 my Uncle was a 20mm Oerlikon gunner on HMS Victorious aircraft carrier, part of a British carrier group sent to the Pacific to back up the US navy attacking the Jap held Islands, his ship took three Kamikaze strikes in the battle for Okinawa some crew were killed, i would say they have been obsolete since then, Russia invested in anti ship missile technology and they have some of the best, carriers with several thousand ships company would be floating coffins.
There is no aircraft carrier that can stop these hypersonic missiles.
