When will it get to calling him a "******?"

"Terrorist!” one man screamed Monday at a New Mexico rally after McCain voiced the campaign’s new rhetorical staple aimed at raising doubts about the Illinois senator: “Who is the real Barack Obama?”

"He's a damn liar!” yelled a woman Wednesday in Pennsylvania. "Get him. He's bad for our country."

At both stops, there were cries of, “Nobama,” picking up on a phrase that has appeared on yard signs, t-shirts and bumper stickers.

And Thursday, at a campaign town hall in Wisconsin, one Republican brought the crowd to their feet when he used his turn at the microphone to offer a soliloquy so impassioned it made the network news and earned extended play on Rush Limbaugh’s program.

“I’m mad, I’m really mad!” the voter bellowed. “And what’s going to surprise ya, is it’s not the economy – it’s the socialists taking over our country.”

After the crowd settled down he was back at it. “When you have an Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the hooligans up there gonna run this country, we gotta have our head examined!”
(I saw this clip. Too bad he forgot that his side had been ruining the economy for 6 years. For the 1 and half years that the Dems have had a small majority, the Republicans have filibustered more in that time than the Dems did is six years. They refused to bring most of the Dem sponsored bills to vote, and now are blocking them again. )

Now, though, the emotion on display is unadulterated anger rather than mocking.

Activists outside rallies openly talk about Obama as a terrorist, citing his name and purported ties to Islam in the fashion of the viral emails that have rocketed around the Internet for over a year now.

They're whipping people into a frenzy, and somebody might decide to grab a gun and take a shot at obama at some point.

Remember that liberal church that one Con shot up, after becoming enraged by rightwing talk radio?

Our churches need to pray for the safety of both candidates and our country.

I saw a clip yesterday from a McCain rally and some ignorant old blue-hair took the mic and asked McCain: "When are you gonna take the gloves off?"

I nearly friggin pee'd my pants.

This whole thing makes me really sad.

Sad that the Republican party is no longer for true conservatives.

Sad that in such a tumultuous time, nasty smear campaigns are further dividing our country.

Sad that McCain, who I truly respected for so long, has become extremely tarnished in my eyes by the actions of his campaign.

Sad that we can't have a civil discourse on the issues anymore.

Sad that race will still play a part in this presidential election.

Sad that we don't have a true democracy with more than two parties having a shot at the white house.

Sad that I will have to write in a candidate on my ballot because of the limited options being offered.

Sad that no matter who is elected, 50% of our population will continue to be pissed off for the next four years.

Sad that people believe if my team doesn't win, I will do everything in my power to make sure the team that does win will accomplish very little.

OK, I'm going to stop, because I might just end up sad if I continue writing. :D

I'm watching a religious rally for McCain right now in Wisconsin.

Please, righties don't talk to me aoubt cult shit.

He is telling us how he will fixe everything but is as usual giving no plans.

I feel like I am back in church,

Oh, McHoly we crown thee with blossoms today,
Leader of the conservs, head of the fray.

He never mentions his association with the anti semite racist organization when he was an adult in 1988.

Yes, let Obama part the ocean and seas instead and mend the wounds of this planet with his urine

amen

Maybe they'll even get caught cheering, if there are more attacks!
