Hate em. I'm not running the game to see who wrote it, who produced it or anything that doesn't get me to the game in a couple of seconds, not interested in cut scenes or cinimatics. Those are my biggest gripe about games.

I think one of the best openings belong to Mass Effect. It instantly got my attention, made me feel Shepard and was just very epic. Like a movie opening but you're in it.
