You can say the same about America. The country survived through several major wars in history but only brought to its knees because of open border. No shots were fired leading to the downfall.

I can't see that anymore. Their birthrate is declining while non Europeans birthrate are exploding. Now if Europe imports the brainy folks with allegiance to the country that took them in, then it's a different story. This is why East Asia and certain European countries are against open border. Their population may be declining but the country identity and cultural heritage remain unchanged. Declining population is fixable if homogeneity is solidly in place.
