Eulogy for Osama bin Laden: A Cautionary Tale in a Cave
Dearly un-beloved,
We are gathered here today — not in mourning, but in mild disbelief — to reflect on the life, legacy, and untimely Navy SEAL-induced expiration of Osama bin Laden, a man who truly put the “mad” in “madrassa.”
Born into obscene wealth in Saudi Arabia, Osama chose the difficult path in life: giving up his trust fund to live in caves, record grainy VHS tapes, and shout at the sky about Western imperialism — all while wearing designer robes and dodging showers. A revolutionary, if your revolution involves dragging the 7th century into the 21st and calling it progress.
He dreamed of a caliphate, and ended up in an attic.
Let us remember the highlights of his life: fleeing to Tora Bora, missing the memo on deodorant, and producing what may be the worst YouTube content in history. A man so committed to his beliefs, he convinced others to die for them — while he stayed behind to film reaction videos and hide behind human shields. Truly, the Che Guevara of cowards.
In the end, he died as he lived: confused, paranoid, and watching reruns of himself.
Let this be a lesson to all who glorify death in the name of ideology: eventually, you’ll be found — probably by a helicopter full of guys who aren’t there to negotiate.
Rest in pieces, Osama.
