We, as a culture, are just beginning to come out from the embrace of the Patriarchy. Sexual control and repression..the good old double standard was always used to dominate and control women, by denying them the same freedoms as men. Women have managed to attain legal equality, at least on paper, but cultural equality is still a work in progress, especially in the realm of sexual freedom and expression. In the context of religion, this can be quite problematic..because many of the ethics, morals and cultural framework of most religions, especially those that sprang from Abraham--are still quite Patriarchal...and often wink at the Double Standard many men enjoy.

I am not referring to the sinful nature of some who call themselves Christians but I refer to the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. He never differentiated between man and woman in these commandments. If you think Jesus taught otherwise, show me the verses of scripture that prove that assumption.

Two parent Patriarchal families raise the happiest and most well adjusted children who are productive members of society. Single parent families produce the majority of prison populations and are a leading factor for child exploitation cases.

Currently, the death rate of American citizens is exceeding the birth rates of 2nd generation Americans.....meaning we currently need immigrants to support growth of the population....and Currently the Palestinian immigrants want "Death to America"

two parent nuclear families are an artifact of the industrial age and consumer culture. extended families have been the norm in western civilization until recently.

it is very easy to argue that even with 2 parents, the demands of child care, elder care, and the vagaries of capitalist economic cycles stretch the nuclear family past a healthy point.
