Surprising absolutely no-one, the Church of England appoints a woman as the newest Archbishop of Canterbury.

I'm sure she is a lovely lady, but from afar, I believe this is just the latest gambit by the leadership (whoever that is) to make certain there is no reconciliation with the RC Church, not now, and not in anyone's lifetime. Their theology is indistinguishable but they hate infallibility, and therefore hate the RC church. Parenthetically, the Catholics and the Lutherans chose several years ago to acknowledge that they are basically playing from the same rulebook.

Am I right in believing that the Church of England and the Episcopal Church in the U.S. are the same group? In my own neighborhood, we have an Anglican community that split off from the Episcopalians when they started accepting women priests and homosexuals in the clergy. Regardless, their numbers have shrunk so low that they can barely keep the light on in their wonderful gothic churches, which were built in much better times.

Yes, she is a lovely lady from afar.

I'm surprised the Anglicans, being the woke group they are, didn't choose a She-Male for the job. That would have checked off a lot of boxes and put a lot more homosexuals into the pews.

It's all about bringing more money into the church's coffers. Sinners are more willing to part with their money when they're being told they won't be held accountable.

LOL Sinners! Woke! Too funny. Live and let live. Whenever I see woke used as a pejorative I know I am in dumbland. As for infallibility, being raised Catholic that concept always amused me given the history of change, progress proceeds slowly.....
