Election Day, and I will be doing my civic duty...

...by NOT voting. These are relatively unimportant positions, and I have not taken the time to investigate the issues or the positions the candidates have taken.

Better not to vote than to inadvertently vote for someone whose positions I don't like.
That may be true for non-legislative elections, but the rest are dominated by party politics. If you don't see any difference between Democrat and Republican policies, don't vote. If you do, it is an important decision.

Excellent. I encourage all voters to abstain so my informed and rational votes counts even more. Better yet, just let me decide who gets to be in office. I can't be worse and what we have now and maybe I'll do better.

Those who run for your Town Council, School Board, County Commissioners, local judges have more impact on your day to day life than the President

The County where I live in 2:1 Democrat, and my municipality and school district are almost 2:1 Republican. No question who will win.

The interestinger election in my area is the City of Pittsburgh, where the Democrat primary pits a progressive Democrat against an insanely progressive Democrat. Both races have been funded mainly by out-of-state donors.

The incumbent's position was basically purchased four years ago by the SEIU, based on a promise to pressure the County's biggest employer - the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center - into bargaining with that repulsive union. He tried but failed. Even so, UPMC dramatically improved workers' wages and benefits in order to keep the union out, so that's nice.

Yes, and where I lived for years, every race was unopposed. It was well known that ANYONE with the temerity to oppose the ones in charge would be PUNISHED.

Same where I live
Most races are unopposed

Candidates are chosen in back rooms by small town party bosses
