I picked this one up at the pawn shop this morning for $350.00.

Just fair condition but not bad for an early M1917 that has not been reworked. Likely first month of production.

9 thousand serial range. All matching, all early features.

Since ,45 APC is rimless, I assume this uses moon clips?
I picked up a Webley that is similar, but I like the way it breaks open.

Yes, it uses the half, full, and quarter moon clips. Half moons were the issue clip.

The S&W M1917 is a bit different than the Colt M1917 as it has chamber lips in the cylinder that allow rounds to be inserted in the cylinder, fired, but they would need to be poked out with a dowel or something.
