For once Ford is right though without all of the details it is impossible to say for certainty so I never want to junp to derinitive conclusions. As long as someone doesn't grab a weapon ans try to murder someone in the face of less of a threat, one must defend theirnlife, especially in their own home. This is how I view it, if a police officer would be allowed to defend himself, and in Canada they have FAR more authority and freedom to abuse citizens than American police do relative to regular citizens, then he should be able to.defend his life and body from harm in his own home. Now he may have gone overboard in his defense, who knows? I notice though Ford talks about the family of the man, what about the man defending himself? A cop would have killed.a man and noone would have said anything, the imbalance of power in Canada is absurd and evidence that we are not free. Doug Ford says ‘something is broken’ after Ontario man charged with assaulting armed home intruder.
Premier Doug Ford is supporting a person’s right to protect themself and their family from home intruders and said the justice system is “broken” after an Ontario man was charged with assaulting an intruder he found inside his Lindsay home early Monday morning.
The Kawartha Lakes Police, meanwhile, are defending their decision to charge the homeowner, who allegedly sent the trespasser to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
