"Don't Go To America": UK Woman Detained By ICE For 6 Weeks Despite Valid US Visa

In total, Karen and her husband spent 45 days in detention before being abruptly released, receiving little explanation for the prolonged confinement.

A 65-year-old British woman says she and her husband were detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for 45 days while attempting to leave the United States at the end of their holiday. Karen Newton shared her experience with The Guardian, warning other international travellers to think carefully before visiting the US. What makes her case particularly striking, she said, is that she was carrying a valid British passport and tourist visa at the time of her detention. According to her account, she was effectively penalised because her husband's visa had expired, describing the situation as being treated “guilty by association.”

"Don't go—not with Trump in charge. It's totally out of control over there. There's no accountability. They don't seem to need a reason for detaining you," the British tourist warned.

I said the same thing to a friend of mine who lives in the Philippines who I recently have started a business venture with. This is another example of the price of racism. This county is losing trillions because of racism and yet watch how the MAGAS deny this.

Interesting. Your ritualistic whine about racism has nothing to do with the link you posted. What's your thread really about, a Brit couple not being separated or racism? It's not really clear.

Something that seems to be missing from that story is an attempt by the couple to contact the British government for help in straightening out the situation. That would be one of my first requests if I were detained in the UK. I would demand to speak with someone at the American embassy and if denied would make it a centerpiece of my story.

Or are we supposed to be talking about racism?

The only ritual whiners are you who cry about fictional anti-white racism that doesn't happen, then you try jumping on and gaslighting the people who point out your racism.

I don't have to explain what this is about. The fact is that the racist policies of the administration that you support and defend are costing this nation money. Understand that just because some whites get caught up in it doesn't mean that racism has no part in this. Some whites got caught up during Jim Crow, also. You racists try looking for any way to deny your racism.

Meister, you really need to stay out of this conversation. You have told me how we need to wait until whites decide to stp being racists.

Is it your contention that racism caused these Brits to be detained, during which it appears they did NOT reach out to the British government for help, something that I would expect to be automatic?

Says the black racist. Nearly all his threads end up with him turning a
thread into a racist rant.

The fact that you fell for this explains why you can't get an ID.

I told you that ending racism will be a generational effort that will
eventually end racism. You believed that you can just turn it off like a switch.
Quit your damn lying, and maybe stick with your topic instead of turning a
non racial topic into your damn racial rant. IM2 should just stay out of his
own thread.

Figures you forget to provide the full context:

She wasn’t randomly detained despite a valid visa — the issue arose after Canadian border officials denied them entry and sent them back to U.S. authorities, where her husband’s visa overstay was discovered. That triggered immigration processing and detention for both while the case was resolved. It was an administrative immigration detention tied to a mixed-status travel situation, not simply a tourist with valid documents being picked up for no reason.

I guess Canada has racist policies too 🤔
