Donald Trump is considering pulling US troops from Germany and redeploying them to Eastern Europe, The Telegraph can reveal.

Mr Trump is weighing up withdrawing some 35,000 active personnel out of Germany in a move that would further sour US-Europe relations.

The US president, who has repeatedly warned that Europe must commit more to its defensive capabilities, is becoming increasingly frustrated that the continent is “pushing for war”, sources close to the administration said.

Around 160,000 active-duty personnel are stationed outside of the United States, a vast quantity of whom are in Germany.

“Trump is angry that they [Europe] appear to be pushing for war,” a source close to the White House said.

Brian Hughes, a US national security spokesman, said: “While no specific announcement is imminent, the US military is always considering the redeployment of troops around the world to best address current threats to our interests.”

Poland is also solid for the US, and we've been getting pretty cozy with Armenia lately as well.

Keep Rammstein for line of sight reasons.

He seems to "consider" a lot of things.

Well, if the squareheads are still concerned about the Fulda Gap they can bring their own military up to snuff to defend it.

I'm fine with bringing all the troops home. Re-deploying them solves nothing. Neither does simply "considering" it.

Wow, considering issues is what a president and leader should do. Thinking things out and measuring risk and rewards is what rational people do. Kneejerk reactions leads to horrible consequences, just look at the past four years when we had no one that could you ration leading us…record Covid deaths, skyrocketing inflation, global unrest, an open border, and a majority of the country worse off then before the Dems took office

I think it's a financial shot across Germany's bow....The US spends a lot of money in Germany as far as base support from the surrounding communities.

STUTTGART, Germany — Germany spent $118 million last year on hosting foreign forces, a fraction of what other major allies spend on cost-sharing and far less than the billions the U.S. military pumps into the Germany economy.

About $53 million was spent on “follow-on” administrative costs such as land acquisition, the German press agency DPA reported. That was $10 million more than last year, but the increase was connected to British, Dutch and Canadian forces in Germany, DPA reported.

Military construction project spending fell from $66 million in 2019 to $59 million last year, the report said, citing government data provided to federal parliament member Sevim Dagdelen.

The majority of spending was related to the U.S. military, which at about 32,000 troops maintains a much larger presence than other allied missions in Germany. But Berlin’s contribution is still far less than other key U.S. allies when it comes to paying for bases.

Enabling the Jihad

Nixon should have pulled them out, because by the 70s Europe was rich enough to defend itself.

In 1973, he did order one Division there to get ready to seize the Arab oilfields in response to the OPEC Embargo. But Big Oil pressured him out of it. Our Petrocracy piggybacked off the price-gouging and no one was the wiser.

Just considering moving troops may cause Russia to come to the negotiating table in the Ukraine war. The people in certain regions of the world you need to feel sorry for.

Yea, whether he'll pig out on McD's fish filets or quarter pounders today once he gets done playing pocket pool as Vlad whispers sweet nothings in his ear over the phone.
