Don isn't going to like this unintended consequence of his war with Iran.

Trumps war with Iran has highlighted why we need to develop alternative energy.
We can’t be held hostage to the Middle East

Biden has been proven correct to get us off dependence on fossil fuels
Xiden's policy gave us 5 dollar a gallon gas.....it's weird you whine about $3.80 being too expensive, but then flip flop and say Xiden was correct in getting us 5 dollar a gallon gas.

You literally have no actual position other then partisan cult thinking

For those who have not noticed, trump has been doing what he can shaping US policy to promote the use of fossil fuels and kill renewable energy projects.

Coal’s fortunes shift as Trump uses orders and taxpayer money to keep plants operating

The most recent example of the latter being........

White House to pay TotalEnergies $1 billion to kill off East Coast wind farm projects

Implying he will not be happy with this development.

‘Asia’s Ukraine moment’: How the Iran war could accelerate a shift into renewables

The fallout from the Iran war is likely to expedite the shift away from fossil fuels and make countries think differently about the role renewables can play in shoring up energy security, analysts told CNBC.

The Middle East crisis has severely disrupted oil exports through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, which typically carries about a fifth of the world’s oil and liquified natural gas (LNG) and represents a key choke point for fertilizer trade.

It has shone a light on the extent to which the world remains deeply reliant on fragile fossil fuel trade routes, while surging oil and gas prices have rattled energy markets and triggered widespread inflation fears.

Asia’s reliance on imported energy means it now sits at the forefront of the global fossil fuel crisis, but supply disruptions are also hitting hard in Europe and Africa, where countries are responding to rising fuel costs and a considerable threat to food security.

The head of the International Energy Agency said the energy transition was moving “very strongly” before the Iran war began — but the fallout from the resulting energy shock means countries will likely direct even more investment toward clean energy sources.

Unintended consequences abound from the il-fated decision to join Bibi's jihad against Iran. Consequences not subject to being remedied by bluster, lies, deflection, denial, and pointing the finger of blame at the deep state, the fake news, Nancy Pelosi, or any other imaginary bogeymen. IOW, the usual approach. Which is why Don can't seem to find a solution to the problem of his creation.
Stop renewable energy before it wrecks the economy like it has in Europe

Imagine if we didn't have to worry about oil or coal.

But there's a problem: Getting there requires science, higher education, practical knowledge, curiosity, innovation and collaboration.

We're advancing for sure, but only in spite of caveman politics.
I have solar for the house so what does the gov do? Increase the cost of being connected to the grid even though we produce more electricity than we use.

We are now being charged about the same as when we were not on solar about six years ago.

Greg

What a silly question. USA of course. (Settle for 99.7% doofus).

Greg

What car, truck, house, semi, heavy equipment, etc is 100% American made, including the parts to make these items complete?

Hint: NOT 99.7%.

Pay for it your self and stop all subsidies for solar.

I think renewables will be a great addition to fossil fuels once they are advanced enough to produce more, but right now, they are terribly inefficient for what it takes to build them.

I agree, the reality is solor and wind just take up way to much real estate to generate any real power.

What we really should be focusing on is nuclear power

It's the power companies doing that idiot, not the "Gubmint".
Of course, they do bribe the politicians to make that happen.

May 8, 2022 — Utilities push back against growth of rooftop solar panels. In most states, utilities pay solar customers for power they send back to the grid.

Thats all changing thanks to, Trump. Manufacturing is coming here

Manufacturing in Europe is currently facing a period of significant deindustrialization, driven by high energy costs, intense global competition, and a shifting regulatory environment. While Central and Eastern European nations like
Slovakia
and
Czechia
remain industrial strongholds, larger economies such as
Germany
and
France
have seen sharp declines in manufacturing output and employment.
Strategic Perspectives +2

Core Factors Driving the Exodus
  • High Energy Costs: The permanent shift away from cheap Russian gas following the 2022 energy crisis has left energy-intensive industries like chemicals, steel, and aluminum struggling to remain competitive.
  • Global Competition & Subsidies: European firms are increasingly squeezed between massive subsidies in the
    United States
(via the Inflation Reduction Act) and
    China's
dominance in emerging sectors like electric vehicles (EVs) and batteries.
  • Regulatory Complexity: Strict environmental standards and fragmented national regulations have led some firms, particularly in the pharmaceutical and energy startup sectors, to relocate research and production to markets with more favorable scaling conditions.
  • Trade Turmoil: Recent or proposed tariffs, including those from the U.S., have introduced uncertainty that delays investment and recovery in sectors like automotive and machinery.

Impacted Industries and Regions
  • Chemicals: Major plant closures have been announced by firms such as Ineos and Arlanxeo, particularly in
    Germany
    .
  • Automotive: European carmakers like Volkswagen and Michelin have announced significant job cuts and plant closures as they adapt to the EV transition and foreign competition.
  • Regional Decline: Heavy job losses have hit historic industrial hubs such as the
    Ruhr
    (Germany)
    ,
    Hauts-de-France
    (France)
    , and
    Silesia
    (Poland)

EU Policy Responses
In early 2026, the European Union introduced the "Made in Europe" plan (Industrial Accelerator Act) to counter this decline. Key measures include:
Financial Post +4
  • Local Content Requirements: Prioritizing local companies in public spending for strategic sectors like wind, solar, and nuclear.
  • Predictable Investment: Creating a more stable environment for green technologies to ensure the "green transition" remains an industrial opportunity rather than a cause for further decline.

My house was built in 1959, all here in the United States.

Where did you import your house from?
WOW Q-NUT.

That's one, a LONG time ago.

Does the water heater still work?
What about your furnace?
The pump for your well?
The roof is still original?

Buy AMERICAN. The US is reliable AND will be rid of the most evil regime since the USSR. (OK; CCP, NK, Putin and a couple of others are probably even worse. or just as bad.

Greg

America is energy independent.
But that actually means nothing, because the domestic price
is set by the international price.
The price of a barrel of oil is now around $100 a barrel.
So we're paying $4 a gallon for gas, and $5 for diesel

They get us hooked, and then lobby against the government fighting the addiction.

Yeah everything works fine

Got a new roof a few years ago, had an American put it on
Probably a SOUTH American put it on. Did you check who was actually on your roof?

No? Well, then, STFU. :slap:
