Georgia Official, a Veteran Prosecutor, Appoints Self to Oversee Trump Case

The Georgia criminal election interference case against President Trump and a number of his allies entered a new phase on Friday, as the executive director of the state’s prosecutor council appointed himself to take over the case, replacing Fani T. Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, who was disqualified from pursuing it.

What the change means for the future of the case was unclear. The new prosecutor, Pete Skandalakis, is a veteran Georgia lawyer who began his career as a Democrat and later switched to the Republican Party. As executive director of the nonpartisan Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, Mr. Skandalakis had been tasked by law with finding a new prosecutor to take on the complex Trump case after Ms. Willis was removed by the Georgia appellate court.

In a filing in Fulton County Superior Court on Friday, Mr. Skandalakis said he reached out to “several prosecutors” in the state, but that each of them declined the appointment. So he said he decided to take on the case himself.

Good news for trump, right? He gets to prove his innocence after claiming he "did nothing wrong" for these past years.

Keep grasping at those straws bug.

We’ll see

But with the expanding Epstein “drops” Trump is becoming more and more a lame duck on his own
“The public has a legitimate interest in the outcome of this case,” Mr. Skandalakis said. “Accordingly, it is important that someone make an informed and transparent determination about how best to proceed.”

The public has a legitimate interest in the outcome of the cases Jack Smith was prosecuting as well. We have a right to know if the prez is a criminal. Oooops, we already do.

The DOJ should investigate Mr. Skandalakis, starting with whether that is even a real name and going from there. This sounds like malicious prosecution and oppression under color of law, but that is for the jury to decide.

If he is innocent, he has nothing to worry sbout!

He said he would do that, if another office didn't take it up.

Glad to see him follow through.

Some have already pleaded guilty.

LOL, the fact that this ONE guy is the only person in the state that will take the case over should tell you something.
It tells us that the smaller counties don't have the resources. He predicted this at the time of Willis's removal and said he would take the case, if the counties couldn't take it up.

Given that he cannot run again, the moment he was sworn in he became a lame duck.

But you know, be sure not to vote for him in '28. I know I won't.

Well let's see, Trump controls the DOJ and the SCOTUS and the White House so...

I'd be pretty pissed if I was a Fulton County taxpayer that they'd spend another dime on this abject nonsense.

Right, you will vote for the person Trump tells you to vote for.
So, you should curb your tendancy to display your ignorance.

Do you know what it took for Me to vote for Trump? I didn't the first two times.

It took Harris as the alternative.

There is only ONE other person more vile than Kamala Harris.

Hillary Clinton. I didn't even vote for Trump when Clinton ran against him.

But you'll be forever branded as a clown that first voted for an Alzheimers-addled, brain-dead Candidate and then doubled down on stupidity and voted for Harris.

Look at the Mote in your own eye.

I count your embarrassing buttlicking posts to mark you as a strong supporter of Trump.

Because I am a normal human being.

Hard for MAGA to understand, maybe.

I am a strong supporter of Trump now that he is President. Any sane person would be. The alternative is to embrace a dystopian world in which chicks with dicks rule the whole world.

It's painful when stupid people speak. It's even more painful to realize they don't even know they're silly.

You don't know, and that should tell you all you need to know. You are as intelligent as that rotting kiwi I have lying under my kiwi bush in the back yard. At least the Kiwi isn't a threat to the children in our kindergarten classes.
