The Justice Department is investigating Minnesota officials, including Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, over an alleged conspiracy to impede federal immigration agents, an extraordinary escalation in the Trump administration's clash with Democratic leaders there, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CBS News.

One of the sources, a U.S. official, said the investigation stems from statements that Walz and Frey have made about the thousands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents deployed to the Minneapolis region in recent weeks.

A person familiar with the matter told CNN that a grand jury has issued subpoenas for both men as part of the investigation. But neither office had received any notice as of Friday evening, according to sources familiar with the matter. It was not immediately clear when Frey and Walz would receive the subpoenas.

The Justice Department declined to comment.

For years, this pair and others in Minnesota's government have winked at, perhaps participated in, massive welfare fraud that has stolen billions of dollars from American taxpayers and now they are urging Minnesota's citizens to commit illegal actions against the Federal Government in as attempt to bury the story about their corruption behind stories of violence in the streets of Minneapolis against the Federal Government.

The DoJ needs to get this garbage into a federal courtroom as soon as possible in order to protect the citizens of Minnesota from their illegal actions and to protect American taxpayers from the massive theft they are involved in.

I belief this will end in one of 2 ways.

Number 1: It ill go nowhere. I think this is the most likely option.

Number 2: They'll try to charge them with something... anything, and won't get to an indictment.


I also believe that I know how you'll respond to those options.

What that tells me is that despite you not knowing anything those "scenarios" are the only conclusion you'd accept,( despite that is, them being indicted)

There is a fourth option, one that you clearly are not prepared to consider despite nothing happening yet. The most obvious one. Walz, and Frey did nothing wrong.
