Canada has Labour Day here and it is a statutory holiday.

Our holidays often mirror yours, do you have anything on September 1st or will your government offices be open?

Normally it's the first Monday of September for our Labor Day. This year happens to also be Sept. 1st.

.

Labor Day used to just be September 1st, until the lazy federal employees decided they wanted another paid holiday and a three day weekend.

For Catholics, it's the Feast Day of St. Vincent, among others.

I will probably work Monday.
Our long weekend starts the following Thursday thru Sunday.
The campground and lake is much quieter since kids will be back at school and summer tourist season officially ends with the Holiday weekend.

I never go out of town on holidays. It will be quiet at home since all the neighbors went out of town. That way, I avoid crowds both weekends.
