i only speak normally

what do you do?
.

No. I think that such practices are not taken seriously here.

Many years ago, my Catholic sister-in-law claimed that she spoke in tongues, but what I heard was cultish gibberish. Besides, she had a pretty unstable personality.

"And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." - Acts 2:4
The Bible tells a lot of stories of individuals speaking in tongues. It was specifically practiced by Paul after Christ's Resurrection, as the Bible states. Throughout history, there have been many accounts of people speaking in tongues in various gatherings, even in the modern-day Christian practice.

Because of this, the topic of speaking in tongues is one of the most controversial topics in the Christian faith up to this day. It has its fair share of debates among Christians on whether it genuinely still exists today and whether it should be practiced, and when. This article shall present the meaning of the gift of speaking in tongues according to biblical perspectives as well as present if it is for modern-day practice or not.

What Is Speaking in Tongues?

Speaking in tongues is a form of communication with God. It is a prayer, and doing so speaks directly to God alone. According to 1 Corinthians 14:2, “For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.”

Paul further emphasized this in his letter to the Corinthians, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful” (1 Corinthians 14:14).

speaking in tongues is not a normal gift from God it is usually the devil's work and speaking to the dead is never God's gift again that is from the devil

Acts 2:4

Acts 19:6

Mark 16:17.

1 Corinthians 14:2

I think I know the other 1,245,465,275 of her sisters.

Most people use their tongues when they speak.
I'm just wondering if there is a natural language that tongues speak, you know, just between themselves? It's a strange conundrum that would never come up in polite company. LOL

Our understanding as LDS with speaking in tongues is different that blabbering jibberish as with other certain churches that do. We simply believe it's possible to understand people of different languages spiritually and know what they are saying when we don't know the language.

I only speak in tongues

I look at it this way, no one understood me before I spoke in tongues, so why not speak with them all the time?
