Dow futures jump 1,000 points after Trump says U.S. and Iran have held ‘productive’ talks:

Stock futures shot higher in a sudden move after President Donald Trump said the U.S. and Iran have held productive talks over the last two days and he was halting any strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures jumped 1,100 points, or 2.6% higher. S&P 500 futures jumped 2.7%, and Nasdaq-100 futures added 2.7%.

Those moves came as the Iran war entered its fourth week, with tensions escalating over the weekend. President Donald Trump threatened an attack on Iranian power plants if the Strait of Hormuz — a key shipping route for oil and other energy products — isn’t reopened. Iran responded in turn said it would target U.S. infrastructure, including energy and desalination facilities in the Gulf, if the U.S. carried out its threat.

Who are we going to talk to? Don said everyone in Iran's leadership is dead.

If anything was predictable about the conflict trump got us in to it's that he would blink. Cuz despite he claims to the contrary he did not expect the impact of his ill-fated decision to attack Iran to go this badly with respect to the US economy/stock market.

Trump doesn't care about oil/gas prices. He said so himself. Those wanting to get re-elected do though.

on another level, why the markets give any consideration to anything Trump says is a mystery.

Do you think this passes the smell test? Iran and Dotard have been trading threats all weekend. Iran put out a statement that it would target countries that hold US treasuries.

Now we're told they've been talking for a few days?

Trump just flops around like a flounder tossed on a dock.

It's going to be interested to see which rationale the regime uses to justify negotiating with Iran. Or what is being discussed. Or if what trump said is true.

Remember when he said that the deal he brokered to end the Ukraine/Russia War was about to be presented?

The market is growing more skeptical of the announcement. The futures have lost about 25% of its gains.

Motor Mouth is in big trouble because matters are hurting------ the perception by others of himself as a Caesar does not match his own Peace Prize winning fantasy .
and his new best seller has been put on Hold ,
How to win Peace by War .

The simple fact is that the Double M has no Exit Strategy , so he is having to mouth blatant lies hoping that the Dumb Munchers will swallow them .

Hint
Nobody has productive talks with the double M .
They either listen and nod or just have a quick nap .

He also said he doesn't want to talk, as he claimed victory over and over and over.
We already know what Karoline will be saying about that. She'll say Dotard didn't inform the public about the talks because...............................fill in the blank with some bizarre answer in an attempt to make the Orange Menace look good.

Here we go.

Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform that the U.S. and Iran had “VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS REGARDING A COMPLETE AND TOTAL RESOLUTION OF OUR HOSTILITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST.”

The U.S. president said these talks would continue through the week. Oil prices fell sharply on the news.

Speaking on a call with CNBC’s Joe Kernen on Monday morning, Trump said discussions with Iranian authorities had been very intense and that he remains hopeful something very substantive can be achieved.

The U.S. president also insisted on the same call that what is unfolding in Iran can be described as regime change, Kernen reported.

Can't you just see all the trumples out there begin to nod their heads yes. Yes, that's it, regime change, Dear Leader was right again! Even though...........well.............it isn't.

And those who could do something about this stand idly by.

There are legal processes in place and ready to go. This is on them.

Nothing is going to change but we are going to pretend it did.

OK with me I suppose.

More than 40 Middle East energy assets ‘severely damaged,’ IEA chief says

The head of the International Energy Agency said on Monday that at least 40 energy assets across nine countries in the Middle East have been “severely or very severely” damaged since the Iran war began, raising fears of prolonged supply disruptions.

Speaking at the National Press Club in Australia’s capital, IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said damage to oil and gas fields, refineries and pipelines across the Middle East would take some time to repair.

His comments come as market participants closely monitor threats from the U.S. and Iran over energy facilities as the sprawling regional conflict enters its fourth week.

The Iran war has severely disrupted energy trade flows through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, creating what the IEA says is the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market. The global supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has also been reduced by roughly 20% since the conflict began on Feb. 28.
