Did anyone bother to watch the NASCAR race yesterday on HBO/MAX?

I have HBO/MAX as part of my cable package but when I went to watch the race I was prompted to go through two different sign-ins. Nobody has time for that.

I guess they had switched things up since I first signed in (I seldom watch the HBO/MAX streaming service) so I didn't bother with it.

If sports has gotten to the point where you have to have a bunch of different streaming services to watch a season they can just pound sand....I'll do something else with my time. 😐

It used to be all sports were on network TV. You just changed channels
Then cable came and you had to get ESPN or Sports Channel

Now with streaming, you have to sign up to a half dozen streaming services to see the game you want

It’s not getting better

Nope, it's not, but that does not mean I need to be a party to it. They can sportsball and "turn left" no end without me.

I've been thinking about maybe camping out on the inflield over the weekend at the Dover race this year. That's where all of the real fun is.

And all you really need is a transister radio.

LOL....Years ago when DuPont sponsored Jeff Gordon (my plant made the paint) we would do bus trips from the plant to Dover for the race....Hospitality house, Gordon would speak before the race, the whole ten yards.

The thing that stuck with me was the trip into and out of Dover.....There would be thousands of people lined up along the roads with banners, flags, and such supporting their favorite drivers.

Yeah, it's still that way. I liked Gordon. Last time I was down at a Dover race he ran out of gas, though. The southern part of the state, which is completely opposite of the northern part of the state, in terms of the population, is actually rather conservative/redneck types like me. And so the race is a big deal for weekend fun.

Back then, between MBNA and DuPont, two of my project/client associations at the time, I got some cool kickbacks.

I stopped watching after the "noose" debacle (similar to the NFL "knee" debacle). But I'm not surprised life in TV land is becoming more complicated and difficult. Fortunately for me ... I haven't watched television in more than 12 years or so.

I've onlly recently become interested in watching the races again.

But I think more so just to find something else to occupy my time with.

I've been watching NASCAR every weekend. It is available right over the air for free. All you need are a set of bunny ears.
