Donald Trump, with the cooperation of his submissive Republican Congress, gave himself and his cronies a big tax cut.

A tax cut has to be offset by either increasing taxes on other people, borrowing, or by cutting spending.

Despite his lies, Donald Trump has not cut spending.

He has, however, massively increased taxes on the middle class by way of his import tariffs which are paid by Americans, 97 percent of whom are small businesses.

Trump and MAGAs actually brag how much money his tax hikes are costing the middle class just so the rich can afford more yachts and crypto.

Unfortunately, even with the extra revenue taken off the backs of hardworking small business owners, it wasn't enough to cover Trump and the GOP's prolific overspending.

And now they have to also borrow on top of their tax hike on the middle class. It's so darned good Trump gave himself a tax break, though, amiright?

US deficit grows to $291 billion in July despite tariff revenue surge

US July budget deficit up 20% year-over-year despite record Trump tariff income

Twenty.

Percent.

Deficit.

Increase.

This kind of debt is choking the bond market, and the Fed is going to have to get very creative to keep feeding Trump and the GOPs debt monster. More on that later.

kyzr

Remember this?

June had a surplus
July should too

And do you remember my asking you this?

Gee, how long are you going to think one month surplus offsets Trump's $3 trillion deficit Big Bad Bullshit bill? :auiqs.jpg:

A $27 billion surplus in June. A more than tenfold deficit in July.

You seem awfully quiet now, kyzr.

I was just looking at the US total debt. 105, going on 106 trillion Federal Reserve Notes.

Gawldam...

The US debt just hit $37 trillion.

And Trump has the rubes convinced he has cut spending. :auiqs.jpg:

Just like he has them bleeving his tariffs are paid by other countries. :uhoh3:

Still under the spending of Obiden 2.0. (according to Dem rules back to Obiden 1.0).

You can Chirp next NOV?

Through the years I've just come to accept that you can't really have good, relevant, meaningful discussion or debate on here regarding economics or monetary policy.

Those discussions generally only go so far as a big old pecker waving contest about your guy did it versus my guy did it. That sort of Mickey Mousery is about as deep as a mud puddle and can never be fruitful.

That's probably as far as any economics or monetary policy discussion will ever go on here with this group. The bar for any expectation otherwise is as low as it can possible go at this point.

As I eluded to in another thread around here a while ago, one of statism's great successes has historically been its ability to convince the electorate that the terms of controversy to be debated regarding this problem (or any problem, really) should go only so far as pointing a finger at the current guy in office, whether he dons a red helmet or a blue helmet, or pointing a finger at the previous guy in office, whether he, too, dons a red helmet or a blue helmet, rather than pointing a finger toward the system itself, to which all pretty much adhere, regardless of what color their helmet is.

I see. So when kyzr was bragging about June's surplus and giving Trump credit, was he wrong?

Or do we give Trump credit for surpluses and Biden blame for deficits? It does seem that's how the hivemind works.

When Trump and DOGE and MAGA all brag about how much spending has been cut, they are full of shit?

I'm having a difficult time buying your bullshit. Sorry.

I call total bullshit, if tariffs were really a tax you'd love them. Or is this a first in the history of the world, a tax liberals don't like?

All I know is DOGE has saved $202B from annual spending right now. Whether we are on Obidens annual budget from last OCT or not? I don't know how that works. Board Stain say it back to Obiden 1.0. Not me.

More DOGE cuts could go in if Congress would act. 43 day vacation just started.

Nope. Your tax rate is the same it has been since Trump 1.0.

But if you are a small business importer, your taxes have gone way, way up.

The most since 1933.

.

Oh my! Lookee here!

.

You're busted, hypocrite.

Maybe? if DOGE helped return money to the treasury right away and you are mad about that? ($200B/12) is about 1% per month?

Psst - That's still Biden's budget

Same income tax rates since 2017 are in place ? Why is that an issue now? Obiden 2.0 was happy with it?

Hmmm, well my net increased 1% with my last check. Perhaps my healthcare cost was reduced to almost zero

Sorry, you're busted, hypocrite.

June has a $27 billion surplus. You and kyzr and the rest of MAGA were all about giving credit to Trump.

Then July comes along with a MORE THAN TENFOLD DEFICIT, and suddenly it's Biden's fault again.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Priceless.

Psst - That's still Biden's budget
Pssst. MAGA gave credit to Trump for June's surplus.

Also pssst. Much of the Big Bogus Bill is being spent right now. You have not noticed Trump bragging about that? Seriously?

ICE, defense, border security, etc.

Sorry. You're just going to have to eat that Big Beautiful $291 Deficit.

Thanks to Trump lying about replacing Obamacare, health care costs have continued to skyrocket.

He never had a replacement, and you rubes never held him accountable for that criminal lie despite paying more and more for your health care and your insurance.

No wonder he feels free to lie to you so prodigiously. You BEG him to!

Your net is going to be more than cancelled out by higher grocery and clothing and utility bills.

Considerably more.

It already is. But like with the lie about Obamacare, you will pretend not to notice and take it up the ass like a good little boy.
