Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, in a social media post Saturday night, hours after the shooting, said that what is happening in Minnesota is “appalling” and that Democrats “will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.”

Six of the 12 annual spending bills for the current budget year have been signed into law by President Donald Trump. Six more are awaiting action in the Senate. If senators fail to act by midnight Friday, funding for agencies covered under those six bills will lapse.

Actually, I read the democrats refuse to fund DHS/ for ICE/CBP deportation without modifications...they are demanding changes....longer training periods... in constitutional rights as well as deescalation... as they were before Noem cut them short, wearing a uniform, no masks, and a way to identify them while keeping their privacy... A scan of a uniform icon of sorts that identifies them as legit by using your phone has been suggested...And some other stuff....

If these changes are made, or a compromise of these changes are made, then dems will sign off on the funding bills.
