This, of course, is the Republican nightmare come true: large voter turnout by Democratic voters – by mail or in person.

Conservatives know that when voter turnout is high, Republican candidates tend to lose.

This is why conservatives seek to suppress voting rights – through gerrymandering, by opposing early voting, with voter ID laws, by closing voting venues in minority communities, and by opposing voting by mail.

Republicans want to make voting as difficult as possible predicated on the notion that creating barriers to voting will disadvantage likely Democratic voters.
