True but at this point, this isn’t actually about a border wall. Donald Trump just wants to maintain his image as a “tough” negotiator amid the obvious reality that neither Mexico nor Congress will fund his absurd vanity project. And the president has once again chosen to dig in and spread misinformation in an attempt to maintain two untenable lies.

On the one hand, President Trump has billed himself as a strong man who will always get the “best deal” for the American people and put U.S. citizens first. His foundational campaign promise was not just building a wall along America’s southern border, but that Mexico would pay for the wall. Not that he would renegotiate NAFTA so that trade deficits and tariffs would indirectly offset the construction costs (which is nonsense in its own right), but that Mexico would flat out agree to fork over the money. Now he’s storming out of meetings and refusing to negotiate with Democrats when told that a $5 billion allocation for his wall will not happen.

On the other hand, Trump is doing everything in his power to shift the blame away from his administration’s failure to compromise on the issue of border security and try to pin it on the Democratic party. If the president wants to come out of the national crisis he himself created (and I’m not referring to any border-related crisis), then the president’s best hope is that Americans miraculously believe his farce that Democrats are standing in the way of a building a border wall that would magically “pay for itself many times.”


The truth is that the president is desperate, unreasonable and probably knows that this political stunt, unlike many of his previous ones, will ultimately backfire on his administration.

For clarity’s sake, there is no crisis at the border. Period. Fact-checkers from all across the internet have shown that border apprehensions are on the decline, a fact corroborated by data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.


If Trump was to say he is willing to work on border security, acknowledging that a physical barrier is a small (though impractical) part of such policies, then negotiations could proceed along a sincere effort to modernize our immigration system and find solutions for Dreamers and temporary protected status holders.

But until that happens, Trump is the barrier to progress on any deal to end the government shutdown ― meaning that immigrants, as well as U.S. citizens who work for the federal government (along with their families), will continue to suffer the consequences of Trump’s border wall tantrum.

Poll: Trump accuser Stormy Daniels sparks Democrats to embrace porn

Trump sex accuser and adult film actress Stormy Daniels seems to be giving porn a good name, at least with Democrats.

A new Gallup morals survey, struggling to determine why porn popularity has grown to new highs, suggested that the sex star has given it a “moral credibility,” especially among critics of President Trump.

How else to explain why for the first time ever a majority of Democrats are good with porn?


“The partisan gap on the morality of pornography widened slightly this year (to 26 points), largely because of the sizable change in Democratic attitudes. Why Democrats' attitudes shifted is less clear. While Democrats have become increasingly socially liberal, the percentage of Democrats who describe themselves as socially liberal this year is essentially unchanged from the year before,” said the Gallup analysis.

“Another explanation is that Stormy Daniels, adult film star actress and fierce critic of President Donald Trump, has given pornography a sense of moral credibility that it previously lacked,” it added.

Overall since it has studied morals, Gallup found that the 43 percent now call pornograpy morally acceptable. Among Democrats support is at 53 percent. For independents it is 45 percent but it’s just 27 percent among Republicans.

The poll notes that younger and unmarried Americans are more willing to embrace porn as acceptable than older, married couples.

Gallup seemed a bit stumped with the surge of seven points in the endorsement of porn.

“The cause of the single-year shift on this item, though, is less clear. It may represent something of an outlier, in which case acceptance of pornography would be expected to decrease next year, even if it remains above the 2017 level. Or the shift, though principally driven by a structural trend, may been have been exacerbated by political factors, such as the public battle between Stormy Daniels and the president,” said Gallup.​

But someone should tell Trump a “wall” no longer appears to be in the plans. He just tweeted Sunday that a “ten-foot wall” around Barack and Michelle’s Obama’s home is what he has in mind for the entire southern border.

As of early last year, fencing and other barriers lined nearly 700 miles of the 2,000-mile southern border, which Graham pointed out has already cost billions of dollars.

Trump earlier this month declared in a tweet that “our southern border is now secure” — without a wall — “and will remain that way.”
