In the beginning of the week the story was that Trump had a right to say that those six lawmakers who suggested that the military can refuse illegal orders were insurrectionist and deserved death, because Trump didn't issue any illegal orders. Here they are arguing that there were illegal orders but that it's ok and Trump should pardon the guy executing that order.

It's all about what's necessary in the moment to excuse whatever behavior. It's the superpower to never have to be consistent.
