I am curious what Democrats goals are for society. I am interested in classic liberal goals as well as progressive goals. As a republican, the template is very simple and concrete. Two working parents if possible, with little government involvement, and people are allowed to keep a large portion of their earnings. The government's primary goal would be defense and would be responsible for breaking up monopolies. This is a very simple model. I have no idea what a liberal model looks like. I know they want government healthcare, but other than that it isn't clear. I'm sure the progressives view all human needs as rights. Cradle to grave government care. Food, shelter, everything. Nobody has to work, they just do because they want to. It seems pretty silly and very optimistic about human nature. It seems like many would choose to do nothing and have others support them. They would expect others to meet their needs and not complain, and of course the gigantic government would skim a significant amount off the top. Could someone please explain what classic and progressive liberal societies would look like?

I won't waste my time. You should, however, actually examine what the left wants to do; it's nothing close to what you're describing. I think you may have been brain washed; most on the right have given up any tether to reality.

Corporate Fascism. The globalists need to control continents in order to maximize their profits. The best way to control continents is to control the left all over the world, who are the easiest to control and manipulate into violence if necessary. All the globalists have to do is say they embrace leftist ideology and promise that if the leftists help the globalists take over the world they get their leftist utopia. And the left all around the world fell for it. And continue to fall for it.

The democrats want one party rule and socialism for America.

They want exactly what is happening in China today. One party that controls everything. Except it is not socialism, it is totalitarianism. They'll deny it, but their actions tell the truth.

Socialism is totalitarianism

Democrats want the government to gain complete control over your life. They must be defeated.

Socialism is totalitarianism
True, in practice. But these neo-leftists want us to focus on the theory instead of reality. Reality, as in the practice of socialism, is a lot more brutal.

2 days ago — The Trump administration says it is working to provide tens of billions of dollars to Argentina's President Javier Milei, in a financial bailout that many critics say clashes with President Donald Trump's “America First” platform.

I am being serious. I grew up in the Reagan years. Liberals were for unions and the little guy. I'm not sure back then on how much they wanted to expand the safety net. Republicans did Nafta and gutted all of our industry, and then throw in several endless wars with no definition of victory. Fast forward to now, Dems want to fight in Ukraine, and swear that manufacturing can never return. How much safety net did liberals want in the Reagan years? I'm more interested in past liberalism than today, because even Democrats admit that todays left is off the rails.

I'm pretty sure one of the goals of the Left is to be able to criticize our orange dictator without losing their jobs or being arrested.

Two working parents, you say? Did you know the Left managed to achieve a growing middle class which could live well with only ONE working parent?

As for "government healthcare" Donald Trump has a long history of calling for universal health care He even put it in his book The America We Deserve:

We must have universal healthcare...I'm a conservative on most issues but a liberal on this one. We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by healthcare expenses...

Doctors might be paid less than they are now, as is the case in Canada, but they would be able to treat more patients because of the reduction in their paperwork..

The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans. There are fewer medical lawsuits, less loss of labor to sickness, and lower costs to companies paying for the medical care of their employees. If the program were in place in Massachusetts in 1999 it would have reduced administrative costs by $2.5 million. We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing.

"As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland."
- Donald J. Trump, 2015.

Donald Trump on Larry King the first time he ran for President:

I'm quite liberal, and getting much more liberal, on health care and other things. What's the purpose of a country if you're not gonna have defense and health care? If you can’t take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it’s all over. So I'm very liberal when it comes to health care. I believe in universal healthcare.

You showed off your massive ignorance in so many ways in your post.

Starting off with your stupidity of conflating a classical liberal with the left wing.

I am a classical liberal, and you have no idea what that means. Neither do any of the MAGA cult.

I'm pretty sure one of the goals of the Left is to stop the oligarchs from concentaring all of our wealth into a few hands.

That should be everyone's goal.

If we don't stop this, sooner or later there are going to be torches and pitchforks in the street.

Donald Trump has the most billionaires in his administration in history, and the MAGA rubes are so ******* stupid, they think the oligarchs are looking out for the little guy.

There is a difference between anti-business and oligarchs. Saying corporations are evil is a nice slogan, but private jobs generate taxes while government jobs eat through them. Nobody ever said that pro business policies necessitate monopolies or oligarchs. In my opinion, the government from both parties has failed to stop monopolies. The left can't screw over every business in the country and say we did it to stop oligarchs. The government should be break up monopolies and not become the biggest monopoly ever conceived.

Tossing a Boomerang and Catching Investor Supremacy

Which means you want Capitalist totalitarianism. Too many times, I see somebody pushing something by blaming the opposite ideology for all our troubles.
Again, government should break up monopolies, and not become the biggest one ever. The government from both parties has sucked on the consolidation of power, but bleating anti capitalist mantras doesn't help anyone.
