This is part of something I came across. It's not DOGE. Repeat: This has nothing to do with DOGE. This lawsuit has been in the system for a while now. Ever since a group of people receiving SSI payments got together and brainstormed on how to deal with things.

Dear Citizen of the United States of America (name change pending),
Notice of Class Action Settlement Regarding Overpayments of Supplemental Security Income Payments During the Months of March 2020 through April 2023
This notice is about a settlement in the Campos, et al. v. Kijakazi (No. 21-CV-5143) class action lawsuit concerning overpayments of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) from March 2020 through April 2023. An overpayment happens when we pay more SSI money that was due.
The settlement may affect your rights if you received a notice that you were overpaid SSI payments in any month from March 2020 through April 2023.
This notice describes the lawsuit and the settlement.
What Is the Lawsuit About?
The Campos, et al. v. Kijakazi (No. 21-CV-5143) lawsuit was brought in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The Plaintiffs in this case are SSI recipients who were overpaid in any month from March 2020 through April 2023. Plaintiffs brought the lawsuit to expand a streamlined waiver process. In August 2020, the Social Security Administration ("SSA" or "we") started using the streamlined waiver process in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. SSA denies any wrongdoing or liability. However, Plaintiffs and SSA have settled this lawsuit.
Who Are Members of the Class?
You may be a member of the class if you received a notice of an SSI overpayment for any month from March 2020 through April 2023.
What Will the Settlement Do?
The description of the settlement in this notice is only a summary. To fully understand the settlement, you should read the entire settlement agreement. You can find it at ssa.gov/campos.
The settlement includes the following terms: ssa.gov/campos
