Israel's Deputy Defense Minister calls for end to international aid to PA until it stops using the money to pay terrorists.

Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon (Likud) on Monday 18 November called for an end of international monetary aid to the Palestinian Authority (PA) until the PA stops using the money to fund terrorism.
Danon noted that the aid money which the PA receives is being used in large grants to terrorists, saying "the world thinks it's funding peace, but the Palestinians are funding terror."
The Deputy Defense Minister added that "the world needs to stop the money going to the PA until it stops funding terror."
His words come as it emerges that the Palestinian Authority has given a whopping $50,000 grant to each of the 52 convicted terrorists released by Israel as part of a deal to encourage the Palestinian Authority back to the negotiating table.
The released terrorists - most of whom were convicted of deliberately murdering Israeli civilians - will also receive senior positions within the PA government.
Earlier this month a Member of the European Parliament claimed funds set to be transferred to the Palestinian Authority had been frozen over concerns they would be used to fund terrorism. The European Union is the largest single donor to the Palestinian Authority.
The PA just recently passed a new law granting more benefits to freed terrorists. Under the law anyone who served more than 5 years in prison for an offense related to terrorism against Israel will be guaranteed a job in the public sector.
Terrorist prisoners already get a stipend of anywhere from 1,400 shekels (US$397) to 12,000 shekels (US$3,406) a month. The amount is proportional to the length of the sentence, meaning terrorists who committed the most serious offenses are paid more.
All of this financial aid comes despite massive unemployment among PA Arabs, and the PA reportedly being $4.2 billion in debt.
Danon's criticism of the Palestinian Authority follows Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon's statements Sunday, in which he said the Palestinian Authority is no different from Hamas in its goal to undermine Israel, but that it simply uses different means.
Meanwhile the glorification of terror under the Palestinian Authority continues apace. Just this October two soccer tournaments and all the competing teams were named after terrorists.
