Until trump gives up on his meaningless war it won't go down. He's blockading Cuba's oil yet he wanted other countries to open The Strait of Hormuz. The United States Navy is the most powerful in the world and he asks someone else to open the strait. I'm sure the American military told him the strait would be blockaded and he ignored them.

The reason he asked others to lift the blockade is because him enforcing it would put the U.S. Navy in harms way. They would have to come close enough to Iran that they would be in striking distance which would lead to more Americans dying for nothing.

On the plus side trump has saved the American people $11 billion tax dollars since this war started.
