Cory Booker's epic speech honoring fallen police officers proves that Democrats are the party of defending the police, not defunding

More:

“We control the power of the purse, and that’s, we’re gonna have to look at the appropriations process and limit funds going to some of these agencies, particularly the ones who are engaging in the most egregious behavior,” Jordan said.

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked whether that included the Justice Department and FBI, and Jordan said it did.
Again, nothing to do with defunding the POLICE.

I think they just don't understand the ramifications of their actions because they're ignorant about the job.
I think libs do not understand the ramifications of being anti cop

Heres a lib in san franciso who voted to defund the police in 2020 and is now begging for police protection in 2023

QI should be ended.
There are so many videos out there that show exactly why. Cops do not give a flying FUCK about your rights.
i was once stopped by a lebanese cop because i had my legs up in the car, he thought i was disrepecting him, i told him i always have my legs up like that for comfort and hadn't even seen him, but he was still complaining, until one of my companions on the night told him i'm the son of a martyr and my mom also served in the lebanese military, he backed off.

that's about my only run in with law enforcement. would you like to share yours?

No, they should never be trained to violate people's rights. If the system won't stop that, a few officers being charged will change that.
See, this is the problem. You really just don't get it all. They aren't doing that. Real life situations are complicated though. You can't cover everything in a text book.

You seem to think law enforcement is a bunch of simple and obvious decisions.

There will never be a perfect system, perfect methods or perfect cops. Things go wrong. If the cop was doing their job in good faith they should be protected.

Sometimes agency protocol causes problems. Sometimes it's just cops doing their jobs the way they were trained to. In that situation the agency should be liable, not the officer following protocol and acting within the scope of their duties.

Make up your mind.

No, you don't violate people's rights. There is no such thing as doing that in "good faith".

Nope

I'm tired of trying to talk sense into an idiot. The grownups will never allow the mentally retarded to remove qualified immunity for good officers.

And yet it is happening.....just like in the example I posted.

But you can't talk sense to anyone using double talk.

It wouldn't just be bad cops that suffer. It protects good cops too. Good cops would be charged and sued for acting in good faith in fucked up situations.

This will never happen because it's ridiculous to sue a person for doing as they were trained. You have to sue the agency.

Those were not good officers. You actually don't understand that qualified immunity isn't a system that's designed to protect assholes. The public's ignorance is gross sometimes.

If they are too stupid to know they are impeding on someones rights, even AFTER the law has been spelt out for them, they shouldnt be police.
But I do understand what you are saying.

It's not always that simple. When it's that simple they don't get qualified immunity. It is not designed to protect officers who violated rights. It's designed for the opposite. Violating rights isn't something they teach us at academy.

True

If you think the cops are stupid now just wait and see what you're left with after qualified immunity is gone. Anybody with a triple digit IQ will be looking for new work. Especially in the current political climate.

If destroying the police is your goal you're on the right track.

It's not up to me. It's up to the police whether they want to stop violating the rights of the people or not.

Booker is the poster boy for the typical dumbass Democrat Negro member of Congress.

The average IQ of all of the Democrats in Congress is probably barely above 60.

It's the social contagion aspect that is popular with constituents -- the same constituents that know more about sports and pop culture than the representatives they vote into office -- and current events.

1993---Bill Barr literally wrote a paper called "The Case for Mass Incarceration." here gave 40 speeches around the country about it. here it is in pdf format...just for you, my bro. i'm not gonna make a thread and tell everyone else about it. JUST FOR YOU!
