Bitcoin is super fiat. It doesn't even exist. Another media scam

june 10 2025 Connecticut lawmakers have drawn a hard line against cryptocurrency, passing HB7082, a bill that bans the state from accepting, holding, or investing in Bitcoin or any virtual currency. The legislation, now signed into law, eliminates any government involvement in digital assets, cutting off state agencies from using crypto for transactions or reserves.
The bill’s language is direct. Connecticut and its political subdivisions are prohibited from using virtual currency for payments, investments, or financial reserves. This means state agencies cannot accept Bitcoin for taxes, fees, or services. Additionally, the government is barred from holding crypto assets in any capacity, including pension funds or investment portfolios.

What's the reasoning here? There's no explanation given.

I am not sure why a state would want to hold any anyway, but it is good they are prohibiting pension plans from investing in any of those pyramid schemes. Anyway, for better or worse, the IRS does not treat crypto like currency. It treats it more like a stock with exposure to cap gains and losses. In some ways that is good for now because if you lose value on your crypto, you can deduct it, but we can't deduct the losses we are taking on the purchasing power of the US dollar because of the gross mismanagement of the economy by Trump, Inc.
